Book Launch San Diego – Sept 21, 2025
Join us for our San Diego book launch where Janine Rose will perform an original song inspired by the book and the artwork of Nicole Roberts will be on display in the gallery space of Yoga One, a beautiful art gallery and yoga studio in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego next to Woolf in the Woods and just down the street from The Feminist Book Store. Elizabeth Earley will read from the book and special guests will join her for readings and book signings.

Janine Rose is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer known for making “music you can swim in”—sultry, lyric-centered songs that offer a moment of reprieve and help listeners come home to themselves.
Currently based in San Diego, she teaches audio production and works as an audio engineer at Amplified Studios. Her work extends into community-building through organizing Calm & Queer, a sensory-safe music and storytelling series, and collaborating with Sofar Sounds San Diego as an audio engineer, host, and performing artist.
In addition to her studio and live performance work, she’s more recently expanded into theater as a sound designer and mixer. Always curious and open to what’s next, she looks forward to continuing to grow through new forms, projects, and collaborations.
Nicole Roberts is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in San Diego, with roots tracing back to the Bay Area and an education from California College of the Arts, University of Oregon, and San Jose State University. For over two decades, she's brought her creative vision to life through painting, portrait photography, illustration, design, and brand identity, leading her own studio since 2001. Before settling in San Diego, Nicole traveled broadly—including a formative three‑and‑a‑half‑year stay in Buenos Aires where she immersed herself in the local arts and tango scene.
Today, her expressive work explores human rituals, emotion, and form: her signature pieces—ranging from gritty bird studies to intimate portraits—translate stories into dynamic plays of color, gesture, and light.
Nicole's versatile practice spans both personal commissions and professional roles: she’s created work for major brands like Yahoo, PG&E, and Genentech, ran a successful Bay Area creative agency, and currently serves as Creative Director and sole book designer at Jaded Ibis Press. In San Diego, she continues to accept commissions for portraits and bespoke artworks, balancing conceptual depth with aesthetic sophistication.
